Whatever “Guys and Dolls” has been in the many incarnations that I’ve experienced it over the years, I would never have used the words “clinically depressed.” I would now. The dolls in this lavish but deeply flawed production are more the Neely O’Hara variety than Broadway at its best. Comment

Perhaps when those divas are drag legends Lypsinka and Charles Busch — aided and abetted in their revelry by Whoopi Goldberg and Bryan Batt — in a one-night-only performance of the infamous James Kirkwood play, “Legends!” Comment

Coal Mine Gold Strike

There’s an intense, turn-of-the-20th-century drama now playing in the theater district that features a fraught, 30-year-old woman suffocating from a doomed marriage. So desperate, it seems, that only a death can free her. And, no, I’m not referring to the Roundabout’s revival of “Hedda Gabler.” That ill-conceived production, with a newly updated text, suffers from an identity crisis, rendering it more soggy than searing.
